Why You Need Human Connection to Get Healthy
In an age of information overload, the human becomes the key to health

Thanks to the internet, we live in a golden age of fitness content.
There are 1,000s if not 10,000s of fitness programs and videos online. If I wanted to, I could download an app and do any workout I wanted to in just 5 minutes. There are literally endless options for exercise available to me.
And yet getting healthier doesn’t seem to be any easier than before.
Why is that?
We’re stuck in the belief: more information will get me healthier
Over and over again, we fall into the trap of thinking:
“If I just read this article about getting healthy, I’ll be inspired enough to get it together.”
“Or this fitness program is the one I’ve been looking for that will finally get me active and losing weight.”
People end up feeling like they need more and more information to get healthy. It’s too overwhelming.
Just search YouTube:
“10 minute cardio program”
“Full body strength exercise”
“Cardio for weight loss”
It’s literally limitless, and more and more is getting added every day.
The truth: Insight and inspiration is only 20% of getting healthy
Yes, finding a fun new program or reading an amazing article about getting healthy helps. I’m not saying it doesn’t.
But that’s not what gets you results. The remaining 80% is unsexy things like consistency, regularity, and accountability.
Many studies show that you’re far more likely to improve your health if you connect to somebody along the way.
Getting healthy is more than just following a program or listening to podcasts. It’s about changing our lifestyle and habits. And the most effective way to do that is with the support and encouragement of other people
Humans are social creatures. We thrive best when we connect with others and form relationships.
The relationships we build with our fitness buddies and coaches is a real and deep connection

If you’re serious about getting healthy, you need to start connecting with people.
